Our Philosophy: A.S.T.A.S.I.A
Anatomical Specific Target Application Spontaneous Initiated Action (ASTASIA) forms the backbone of our training ideology. This revolutionary concept focuses on disrupting proprioception—the body’s ability to sense movement, action, and location—leveraging martial arts techniques to manipulate bodily responses under stress. The Collados’ groundbreaking work in this area reflects a fusion of intense practical application and innovative research.
Training with Reality in Mind
At Collado Martial Arts, we recognize that traditional training scenarios often fail to replicate the unpredictability of real-world encounters. Our training sessions are designed to mimic the chaos of an actual attack, where multiple strikes, the intensity of engagement, and the need for accurate, responsive maneuvers are the norms. We prepare our students for the reality of conflict, emphasizing the importance of continuous, dynamic engagement over static, choreographed routines.
Seminars and Workshops: Sharpening Skills, Expanding Horizons
We offer an extensive range of seminars and workshops focusing on practical and tactical street defense, edged weapon handling, joint locks, and specialized training for women’s self-defense. These sessions are customized to deepen understanding, enhance skills, and apply Kenpo principles effectively across various scenarios.
Each workshop is an opportunity to engage with new techniques, refine existing ones, and explore the evolving landscape of Kenpo Karate. Led by the Collados, these sessions are not only about learning but about experiencing the depth and breadth of martial arts in new and exciting ways.
